New demo
Tuesday, October 26, 2004 | Permalink

As the winter approaches, or have already arrived at some places, it's time to cosy up with a demo of candle flames dancing in the dark. Well, not only the flames that are dancing in this demo, the actual candles are jumping around as well causing the familiar light trails you can see in real life as well in a dark room with candles when the the bright candle light sticks on the retina.

Enjoy!

What are you smoking that you see light trails like that on candles?

OK 300+ now. Hmm, it doesn't triple buffering very much.

I don't think it's working on my R9700Pro+ Cat4.10 (with AI set to 1). Everything is very jumpy without any trail marks...
I'm running it on 1280x1024 fullscreen btw.

With a GeForce 6800 GT using 66.81 I do not see the streaks. The candles, their flames and the lighting on the candles flickering works fine, just not the streaks or trails, whatever you wish to call them.

Also when I toggled to fullscreen (it didnt change anything visually) then tried to toggle back to windowed mode, the screen went pure black and I couldn't do ANYTHING. Nothing responded and I was forced to reboot. The suckiest thing is my reset button must not be plugged up cuz it doesn't work so I had to flip the PSU power switch on the back off and back on. Ugh...I hate doing that.

Yes light trails are not working on a 6800 GT. driver 65.73. If I move the window I can see a slight trail for an instant, but it goes away...

Maybe you could try using the defaults setting, the demo doesn't seem to like Triple Buffering very much on my card.
