New demo

Finally a new demo! There hasn't been much activity here for a while, but now I have a new demo here at last.
Lots of people have asked for a long time why I don't have any HDR demo on my site. There's no particular reason for that, I just hadn't bothered writing one. But now I've covered that as well. Of course, it's complete with the butter-on-my-glasses blur effect that has come to characterize HDR and actually to some extent get confused with HDR.
Anyway, the main selling point of this demo is that it doesn't go the lazy route and uses FP16 just because "that's HDR" as is a common misconcept out there. Instead it's using a DXT1/L16 combination that's faster and uses less memory space and can be filtered all the way down to R300. The main render target is FP16 though.

Anyway, enough talking. Now go grab it.

Runs fine on my rad9700pro with 5.8cats and af and aa.

I saved as jpeg to save space.

On my 6800 GT w/ 77.77 drivers the blur around the sun looks a little pixelated and weird. But other than that, everything else works pretty good and looks cool.

Works fine on my GF6800 Ultra with driver 77.30, except for the pixelization around the sun that SirKnight mentioned.

Thanks, eXile - I get the same visual artifacts (XP Pro SP1, AMD XP 2400+, 9700 Pro with Cat. 5. and at first thought my card was fried...

Btw, heres one with additional texture corruption (floor):

An update!
And an update that is a demo!
Good lord!
Thank you, and good luck with that engine.
Any chance that some of this will end up in the engine?

I've just updated the demo again. I think all issues should be gone now.

OK, no problems any more!

Black screen with FPS only.
6800GT, tried with 77.72, 77.77, and 78.01 whql nVidia drivers.

I think, it's common FBO realisation error, cause even "Simple framebuffer demo" from nVidia SDK 9.5 works the same (((
My own application works well with color attachments, but when I bind depth renderbuffer (with any format: 16, 24, 32 or simply GL_DEPTH_COMPONENT), glCheckFramebufferStatusEXT tells me about GL_FRAMEBUFFER_UNSUPPORTED_EXT.
Before depth rb binding status is COMPLETE, by the way.

Now I'll try to roll back to 77.30...
