With a loud thud a new demo hits the face of earth. This time it's soft coronas through occlusion queries.
Hit the headline and head for the download.

Enjoy.

There's information on top of the page with all the demos how to get OpenAL. It's for the audio.

The demo didn't run very well on my linux box.
Z fighting all over the model and the coronas wasn't soft.

look at http://teknicida.molik.org/humus.jpg for a screen shot.

Gentoo 1.4_rc2, GF4Ti4200, 4191.

Not idea why coronas wasn't soft, but I think I figured the z-fighting out. I use several passes, of which the last one doesn't use a vertex program. So I need to use a position invariant vertex program. I have updated the app now, see if it works better.

The z-fighting is gone but the coronas are still not soft.

Can you make it select the software renderer?

It seems like the problem is in you framework, the function "setViewport" that sets the "area" variable is never called.

If i manualy sets "area" the coronas work just fine.
