New benchmark tool
Sunday, June 19, 2005 | Permalink
I've uploaded a new benchmark tool. It's basically a replacement for the old GL_EXT_reme benchmark I wrote ages ago.
Also, I'm releasing the new framework that I've built it on.

Hello Humus
Mouse disapears after the 2.start?
1.start of the tool, all is ok, tool is running in window-mode
2.start, tool is starting fullscreen, but I have no mouse...
How can I start allways in window-mode, have you registry-entries?
I work on a P4, Radeon 9600 5.3 catalyst driver
Thanks for help

Settings are stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Humus
You can toggle between windowed and fullscreen with Alt-Enter.
Apparently I have a bug there, and a few others too. I'll fix up the GUI part of the framework and post a new version.

Alright, I've fixed that issue, plus a whole bunch of other GUI issues I knew and some I discovered while debugging the others. But now things should be working fine.

Now its working fine.
Is it normal, that pre-Z is much slower than non-pre-Z on my Radeon 9600XT with 5.3 driver?
20% slower non-complex shader
2% slower complex shader (ok the shader power limits here, or?)

That seems very backwards. It should be faster with pre-Z, and the difference should be much larger with the complex shader.

Hello,
Is it normal, when I set Anti-Aliasing (2x, 4x or 6x), the Vertical Sync is automatically On ?
(It's the same thing with the Alpha to coverage program, VSync is On all the time).
Another thing (on a X800Pro), I have those results in 1024x768, no FSAA :
Complex - 64x overdraw - Front to back
113.16 fps
Complex - 64x overdraw - Front to back
2 fps !!!
Complex - 64x overdraw - Random order
25.94 fps
Complex - 64x overdraw - Random order with pre-Z
98.32 fps

Excuse my error, In the precedent message, about the resulsts, I didn't ask my question.
It was : What are-we suppose to understand of those results ?
Last thing, I wanted to ask, Why there is a question about mouse sensitivy and invert mouse in the control panel ?
I can't use the mouse in this bench !?
